Your Adrenals Need To Relax Once In A While
A continuation from yesterday’s adrenal gland support article. Adrenal gland support is important considering the stressful lives that we’re all currently living in. By considering these few lifestyle factors and natural adrenal gland support remedies, you can significantly improve your adrenal gland health, and perhaps remove yourself from the majority of the adrenal fatigue statistic!
First for a soothing and regenerating treatment, take an Epsom salt bath. This will pull the fatigue and acidity right out of your body. Try to incorporate an Epsom salt bath into your routine at least one a week. Let your mind go and release the worries of the day. You may add a few drops of Lavender or rose essential oil to your bath and allow the relaxing aroma to help you relax and refresh. These oils are well known for their uplifting and relaxing qualities.
Essential oil, in themselves, can be blended and used to replenish the adrenal glands without stimulating them. Mix one ounce hazelnut essential oil plus 50 drops each of Black Spruce and Pine essential oils. Apply this blend regularly to your kidney and adrenal area for a week or two to help support glandular function. You’ll smell great too!
Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, do what you can to improve your sleep routine. Getting to bed before 10pm is crucial – the hours after 10pm are extremely important in rejuvenation. Your body starts to rebuild at night, so you do not want to stress it out when it is going through these processes. Try finishing your last meal as early as possible so your body doesn’t have to spend all it’s resources digesting your dinner. You want your body to instead work on replenishing your vital resources.
Herbal sleep formulas are effective for many people, and are not addictive! Studies have shown that the aroma of certain essential oils in the room can have a dramatic effect on sleep quality – an easy way to experiment is to sprinkle a few drops of lavender or rose essential oil on your comforter before retiring (be sparing, too much can actually be stimulating!) Adrenal gland support can be achieved with these few simple steps. Many of these iedas will not only help with adrenal gland support, but will help with your overall well being as well helping you to relieve stress and forget your problems.
First, proper adrenal gland support requires you to drink a lot of pure, clean water. Make sure you always have a bottle around to sip on. If you are feeling thirsty, you’re already dehydrated. Find a quiet place in your home or outside near a tree or natural source of water. Sit in a comfortable position and gently follow the rhythm of your breath. Allow yourself this sacred quiet time each day as an opportunity to nourish and assimilate, ground and rejuvenate your energy. Spend time in nature-walking along the ocean, at a park, or in a forest. Hear the sounds of nature, take full deep breaths and inhale in the healing power of the natural world. Take time to look at the trees and flower as well as the sky and various birds and so on. Enjoy this time outside to hear and nourish your body. All this will give your adrenal glands a break and let them build reserves for future needs.
It is important you decrease (or preferably eliminate) your intake of processed sugars. Processed sugars poison the body every time they are eaten and cause stress to the system. Sweets are a hard habit to break, but you’ll notice a significant increase in balanced energy when you do reduce their intake. You want to ingest adequate amounts of essential fatty acids. Great sources include evening primrose oil, borage oil, hemp oil, coconut oil, and flax oils. Research and find out which source is best for your needs. EFAs are precursors to many hormones in the body and will support your overall well-being. Also do your best to cut out caffeine from all sources. Even tea can upset sleep patterns and add pressure to an already stressful lifestyle. Coffee, cola and energy drinks are the worst offenders to adrenal fatigue with their combination of processed sugars and refined caffeine.

So what is adrenal fatigue? You’ve probably heard the term, and may feel like it may be something that is happening to you. For example, do you suffer from burnout or lengthy exhaustion for no obvious reason? Here are the basics behind what is adrenal fatigue to help you better understand them.
The adrenal glands first off are small pyramid shaped organs that sit atop each kidney in the lower back. The adrenals release their own ’stress hormones’ in response to certain situations or environmental conditions, and control the release of many other important hormones in the body such as DHEA, estrogen and testosterone. Their primary function is to prime the system to deal with life-threatening, stressful, or pressure-filled circumstances. They largely determine the energy level available for the necessary response.
In our fast paced society, an estimated 75% of individuals suffer from adrenal fatigue some point in their lives. This occurs when the glands can no longer keep up with the pace of the outputting stress hormones, or when they no longer respond to repeated demands that they’ve heard too many times before. Signs and symptoms may include severe fatigue, lightheadedness upon standing, depression and irritability, lack of sex drive, exhaustion and general malaise. Adrenal fatigue is often associated with intense or prolonged stress, life crisis, trauma, and chronic illness. Other factors include poor lifestyle choices such as substance abuse, an improper diet and too little or irregular sleep.
The functioning and well being of your adrenals is extremely important, especially in emergency situations. Poorly functioning, and overtaxed adrenal glands can lessen your ability to deal effectively with crisis situations. The adrenal glands also signal the storage and/or release of carbohydrates and fats, the conversion of fats and proteins into energy, along with the distribution of stored fat on the body.
